This is your miracle. Capture it!

What happens when a seed is planted…….

by admin on September 28, 2015

Welcome to Spring!

I love Spring! It represents new life, beautiful blossums and the hope that the cold has gone!

Firstly I would like to say thank you. Thank you for trusting me to capture the beauty of your pregnancy, the perfection of your newborn baby and the fun of your cheeky one year old. It means the world to me and it warms my heart each and every time I see you. So again, thank you x

The real reason for this blog post was to announce some exciting changes at TK’s Photography.

Many of you may have seen on Facebook and my blog that at the beginning of August I travelled to the warmth of Tweed Heads to attend the first annual Baby Summit. This is a conference aimed at maternity and newborn photographers, and three hundred of us flocked there to learn from some of the best photographers in this business, as well as gurus in the law, accounting and motivational speaking. We were also spoiled with a trade show that allowed us to make a serious dent in our bank accounts with lighting and camera equipment, albums and other products, as well as the prettiest newborn props you have ever seen! * heaven *

I came away with so much knowledge! Not only in techniques but also in me, what it is that I want to photograph.

Originally starting in wedding photography, over the past four years I’ve embraced boudoir, maternity, newborns, cake smashes, babies and the occasional family session. Thanks to the Baby Summit, I’ve realized where my true passion lies.

We were honoured to have the amazing Sue Bryce speak to us a couple of times at the baby Summit. An amazing portrait photographer, Sue is also a kick arse motivational speaker, and that is just what she did – kicked arse! She told us to make a list of the things we hated and the things we loved. Then look at those lists and figure out how to do more of the things that you loved. Sue had planted a seed.

To use an old saying, do what you love and you won’t work a day in your life. I truly love photographing your pregnant bellies, your newborn’s squishiness and the mess a one year old makes with a giant cupcake. These things make me giddily happy and because of this……..(drumroll please)………

TK’s Photography is now your maternity, newborn and cake smash specialist. Ta-dah!!!

Of course I have weddings booked at the end of this year and in 2016 which I will still give my all into photographing, with my trusty side kick Jasper along for the ride, but I won’t be booking any weddings beyond 2016.

My kids are getting older. Sienna is now 10 and Hayden is 16 and learning to drive. Soon they won’t be home much and I want to be able to be home of a weekend for them or say “Hey everyone, let’s go away for the weekend” and know that there’s nothing stopping me from doing that. It’s a funny thing, motherhood. I was excited to have my children and then was excited when they grew a little and I could start being me again and not just mum. Now that they’re beginning to figure out who they are, I want to spend as much time as possible with them, whether it’s walking the dog, playing UNO, talking about anything at the oddest times or just hanging out. I need to make sure I’m doing all I can to prepare them for their own adventures in the world.

So, if you know someone who’s pregnant or has a child about to turn one, I would be humbled and forever grateful if you would recommend me to them.  I look forward to servicing you all with beautiful portraits and products.

As always, booking your maternity, newborn and cake smash sessions in advance are strongly advised so please email me at tanya@tksphotography.com.au or call me for a chat on 0439984559.

From my heart, I thank you.

Tanya xx
